Papers, 1862-1909.

Papers of A. R. Hall, a pioneer in Wisconsin reform legislation dealing with railroads. Correspondence dates from 1862 and includes quartermaster reports and letters, 1862-1864, written by Hall when he served as an officer with the 11th Minnesota Infantry in Tennessee. Most of the letters, however, relate to his terms in the Minnesota and Wisconsin legislatures. Among his correspondents were Nils P. Haugen and Robert M. La Follette. Also in the collection are newspaper clippings, an account book, and miscellaneous printed matter.
